2021.11.30 09:40 trustinme- A fake NFT job posting on linkedin or not? ("NFT based on real assets")

Hi all,
first, I had indicated the parts where the job seemed like a scam in bold.
I am a student, looking for a job on LinkedIn. When I stumbled upon this post for a "community builder". I read the requirements and said to myself okay this connects with my values. The business is developing an NFT, however, they claim that the company's coin is backed by real assets. The assets are apparently real fig trees, that they plan to grow in the upcoming February. Initially, it seemed like a scam, nevertheless, I contacted, got a response, and an interview.
The interview happened with a real person face-to-face, who contacted me through LinkedIn. His photo on LinkedIn and on the webpage was indeed his face, so he wasn't a fake person. He instructed that he already interviewed 2 candidates, one from Romania, one from Nigeria(candidates are Not from highly developed countries). In the interview, he explained in proficient English about the business(selling "NFTrees") 69DOLLAR per NFTree. The business goal(Every sold NFT they plant a tree). The business makes leads through telegram and discrd. The target group is people into crypto/sustainability, vulnerable. All the questions were answered quite straightforward, even when asked whether this is a scam he explicitly said that this NFT is actually based on real assets again.
Finally, when I started to make research about the company, it works through selling NFT's on "venly" platform, venly does not seem like a popular platform, the interviewer also mentioned that they are going to sell the coin first on smaller platforms. the details of the company are not mentioned on the web pages, however, they provided me with a business Identification number, and it was real, the management were also written in the business registration of Estonia and they are the same people on LinkedIn and the website. Nevertheless, when researching about these people you can only find descriptions of their identity on their platform and Linkedin. Last but not least, I have asked to look into the employment contract and it really does not look legit. No real articles, the business name or registration number is not there and just doesn't seem real.
Overall, I am always critically thinking and Linkedin somehow brings me this vibe that a lot of the posts are fake. I do believe in blockchain's success, however, a concept like this is untangible. I am really keen on learning what do you guys think?
If you need any further information, please do so. I believe this would be an interesting topic.

2021.11.30 09:40 SophiaCalmStorm How do i replicate a file using only bytes?

Im trying to send a file via TCP to my other computer here at home.
For that it seems the best way is to send all the bytes that compose the file.
And then on the other computer recreate it using those bytes.
Or is this not the way to do it?
For the sake of simplicity i will start with a cats1.txt file. And i will try to create a cats2.txt file that is exactly as my cats1.txt, byte per byte on one computer. Is this how i should do it?
So its like creating a file cats1.txt but without having it, just the bytes. And then if this works, apply it to .mp3, and video.
So to start with. How do i get all the bytes that would recreate a file from it?
I suppose its reading it as binary? But its not just a txt. Reading a txt content its easy.
What im trying to do is recreate the file entirely. So if i have a jpg or mp3. It also recreates it.
Please help, what is the best course of action in your opinion?
I have seen tutorials and tried a bunch of different solutions i found online. But they mostly deal with just recreating the text inside a .txt, and thats easy...

2021.11.30 09:40 _-Savannah-_ A guy messaged me something creepy online...

I'm 16 for context. I was on another app talking about how I've been sick lately and how not being able to talk to anyone even online was getting to me. He messaged me and, like I said, I needed conversation (I was hoping for someone close to my age but I just needed someone other than my family) and after not even five minutes he says he's cold and wants someone to cuddle with and if I were in person he'd want to cuddle with me. I saw his profile pic and he definitely looked older than me (I asked him his age later and he said he's 23) but I figured he just hadn't seen my age in my bio. I asked him if he saw it, and he asked if I was uncomfortable, and I said given that it was illegal yes (we had both established that we were from the u.s. at that point). He kept trying and I called him creepy and then he implied he wasn't flirting. I'm wondering if I should share the screenshots with anyone. I live in a different state so it won't really matter if I called the cops or something but I know preying on underage girls when they're sad is creepy and wrong I just don't know how to stop it from happening to someone who might have said yes to him... Initially I would have posted it immediately but him saying I misunderstood the situation made me second guess myself. If I'm wrong it could be bad idk but him being gross is worse...

2021.11.30 09:40 W_Wilson Week 6 | Mao II Group Read | Capstone

So that was Mao II. We’ve officially covered every section and are ready to discuss the text as a whole, and beyond.
One thing I know for sure is that I am not done with this novel. It’s one I’ll have to come back to.
I think the previous weeks’ posts serve as a fantastic summary, so I won’t start this post with one. If you want a quick refresher, the plot section of the Wikipedia page for the novel should serve.
I’ll instead get straight into posing my biggest question about Mao II and sharing a few thoughts on it.
DeLillo presents writers and terrorists as being engaged in ‘a zero-sum game’ of presence and influence in public consciousness (also word vs image and maybe theorists vs actors). Is this an accurate reading of history/social theory? If not entirely accurate, is there an aspect of truth to it? Are these necessarily opposing forces in terms of societal outcome? Is word good, image bad?
‘Terrorist’ is a loaded term if there ever were one. I’m going to aim for more neutral language and hopefully avoid tripping over connotations. But we’re definitely getting into some politics. There’s no avoiding that.
To start, let’s look at why writers might compete for space with ‘terrorists’ for DeLillo. In an interview titled ‘Has Terrorism Become the World’s Main Plot’, DeLillo said: "Writers must oppose systems. It's important to write against power, corporations, the state, and the whole system of consumption and of debilitating entertainments ... I think writers, by nature, must oppose things, oppose whatever power tries to impose on us." So writers are political actors opposing established power, using theory where terrorists use political violence. The idea of ‘word’ in Mao II probably refers more to writing with at least some kind of political implication, including challenging societal norms or cultural developments, than to any and all writing including ad copy and detective novels (not that such things are truly apolitical).
Abu Rashid’s Maoist group literally kidnaps a poet. The thematic symbolism could hardly be stronger. We see zero evidence of actual policy (word) from Rashid’s group and what they won’t out of the hostage situation is sceptical (image). Yet Maoism itself is based in theory. This event is described as a sort of trial run involving an individual that will evolve into widespread political violence. Similarly, I’ve used it as a trial run for mapping my understanding DeLillo’s word vs image theme to a scenario. Does it still work generalised to world history?
If one wants to understand Marxist theory, Das Kapital is about 3,000 pages. In stark contrast, The Communist Manifesto is a call to arms (terroimage/action) for peasants, merely a 23 page pamphlet. If one wants to understand Leninism, one can append What is to Be Done? It’s about 150 pages. By the time you get to Stalinism, you’re out or luck for first party sources and you’re deriving theory (word) from his actions (image). This represents a slide across the duration of a revolution from words to image, theory to action, author to authoritarian. This dichotomy is even more pronounced when you consider Trotsky, exiled and eventually executed by Stalin. His bibliography, published by Louis Sinclair, is over a thousand pages. That’s not a thousand pages of his writing, that’s a list of his published works that is itself a thousand pages long. Mao on the other hand had his Book of Quotations distributed across China post revolution, which seems to emphasis words even once action had very much been taken. Except these books were small, designed to be carried everywhere, and bright red, designed to be highly visible, and their function so performative in nature that these too are image/spectacle replacing word/theory.
I’d run over fascism like this too, but fascism has no coherent theory to give way to image in the first place. It’s all just brain worms. Benito Mussolini’s opening sentence to his The Doctrine of Fascism even contains the phrase “Fascism is action”. A New York Times Article by Alan Gopnik titled Does Mein Kampf Remain a Dangerous Book? concludes that it’s basically just a big whinge with no ideas not found elsewhere (he doesn’t mention it, but the quoted passage about his father reads almost exactly like the manifesto of a certain incel). An interesting line early in this article reads ‘buying it is a symbolic act before it’s any kind of intellectual one.’ Very much inline with our theme.
Religion probably also deserves a discussion but I’m not the best person for that. I’m an entirely secular person and I often miss even obvious religious imagery/themes in literature.
So perhaps there is a zero-sum game between theory and action, but that doesn’t tell us much about the relationship between them. Does action necessarily stray from theory? Is anti-fascist action more closely aligned with anti-fascist theory or fascist action?
Side note: Bill points out the common etymology of guest and host in Old Norse gestr > Dutch/German gast, meaning enemy. I’m going to point out the common etymology or author (Bill) and authoritarian (Mao) and actor (what Bill aims and fails to be) in the Latin Auctor meaning originator.
Another off to the side thought: We have a death of the author story here, in a way. He starts the novel by being the ‘idea of death’ during a photoshoot and ends the novel by literally dying. The purpose of his photoshoot is create an image he can grow more distant from as it replaces him in mass conscious. But Bill hasn’t published in many years and his standing has apparently only grown. This already sounds like an image of Bill becoming more important than his words.
Some questions:

2021.11.30 09:40 AggressiveOven26 Advice on Solar Photovoltaic Investment (Grid-Connected)

I am considering investing in a grid-connected solar park project in Greece with the following business plan:

One of the things that trouble me in that this plan includes a 20% increase of the total cost (due to increases in prices worldwide) that reduced substantially the projected IRR from the initial offer. With this plan, I will be getting my money back after 14 years.
Is 6.2% a good IRR for such a project?
Any other thoughts/considerations?
