2022.01.20 01:09 gojiraaltforreasons Nest Hub stuck in 'Your Evening' doesn't go back to photo frame or clock.

Started happening this week. Photo frame or clock works fine during the day. It also does its 'proximity sensing' thing where if you walk past it during the day, it will show 'Your Morning' etc, but then it will go back to photo frame/clock.
But recently this week, once it decides to show 'Your Evening', it never goes back. Not only is it annoying and ugly, I'm worried about burn-in.
Proximity sensing is On, quick gestures Off. Tried a reboot, which works if you're out of range, but will eventually flip over and not flip back.
Happening for anyone else? Worth lodging a community bug report or just sit it out? Or something else?

2022.01.20 01:09 mewsl Cystic Fibrosis and Trikafta/Kaftria in Germany.

Hello friends. Guten tag :)
I have CF and live in Australia where Trikafta/Kaftrio is NOT available. I also have Germany citizenship. Unfortunately, I do not know a lot about Germany and CF care or the system there in general.
Can someone explain how care is there? What's the hospital like? How did YOU get access Trikafta/Kaftrio?
Any relevant information would be great. Thank you!
(My German is terrible so please reply in English)

2022.01.20 01:09 Hey_Look_Listen_Link Any noteworthy "version differences" other than Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time?

Games on the N64 obviously didn't get patches or updates like modern games do, due to the fact that the console did not connect to what was a very lacking internet at the time. But some games did see certain changes made between different production runs of the game. I know this because I've heard/read a fair amount about the different "versions" of Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time.
If you bought a fresh copy of either game in the later years of the N64's lifespan, you'd likely get a copy that lacked certain glitches that were present when the games first released. This included (I believe for both games) some glitches that could be used by speedrunners to get lower completion times; this effectively made earlier copies preferable in some cases.
There were also some non-glitch changes made in the later versions, perhaps most notably, the removal of a Muslim prayer from Ocarina's Fire Temple music.
I no doubt have heard about the version differences in Mario 64 and Ocarina because the games are probably the two most discussed games on the system. But were there any other games that received interesting changes between versions? I'd love to know!

2022.01.20 01:09 bexbexbobex Overwashing?

TLDR: can you wash a moissanite / gold jewelry too much?
I recently had to re-pierce one of my lobes. I have no idea why, because I wear my studs every single day and only take them out at night (I’m a side sleeper). I’ve also had my lobes pierced for 25 years. I know I should leave an earring in there for a few months until it heals a little more, but I can’t sleep with studs in, and studs are the only earrings I have. So I’ve been just cleaning my ear really well with Bio Septic every morning and night, and disinfecting my earrings with rubbing alcohol at the end of each day. It’s tempting to toss my solitaire and eternity band that I wear every day in there as well, but I don’t want to overwash my stones or the metal even. Is that even a thing?? Could I, in theory, wash my jewelry every single day if I wanted to? All of my jewelry is 10k or 14k rose gold, if that helps.

2022.01.20 01:09 owlwoodworks How to make a plate cut-out

How to make a plate cut-out There is one question wood workers always ask me, and that's "How do you make the plate cut-out".
I have tried doing it a lot of different ways but I have landed on a system which I feel is both the easiest, and results in the best final product. Today I'm gonna do my best to explain my process.

First, figure out the height you want to make your plate cut-out. I find that 1 1/4" accommodates 99% of todays dinner plates. I like to set my combination square to this depth.
Then determine the diameter of the plate you want to fit in the cut-out. A traditional dinner plate, just like this one, is 10 1/2".
Now put a straight cut bit in your router and measure from the edge of the bit to the edge of the router. As you can see, mine is 2 3/4".
Now that you know the diameter of the plate is 10 1/2" and the distance to the edge of the router face is 2 3/4" we can create our semi circle template. Double the router distance and add it to your plate diameter to get the diameter of your semi circle template. 10 1/2 + 2 x 2 3/4 = 16. So I then created a semi circle template with a diameter of 16".
Now, tape a sacrificial piece of wood to the front edge of your board. This does prevent chip out, but its main purpose is to give the router another surface to ride on, so make sure it's flush with the face you're working on. I've used this piece before which is why it's all cut up.
Now place the board on the corner of a table. Place the template on top. At this point, you have to decide how far you want the plate to slide under your board. I like 2"-3". In this case I went with 2". Take that measurement and add it to your router bit to edge distance from earlier. So for me it's 2" + 2 3/4" = 4 3/4". Now measure in that distance and put a line on your board. This is where the edge of your template goes. Obviously make sure it's centred.
Now, clamp the jib and the board to the table on both sides. If you put the board on the corner of the table like I mentioned earlier, you will have an easier time clamping everything down.
Now that your piece is set up, it's time to set the router depth. Take the depth you want the cut-out to be from earlier, and set your router to that MINUS THE DEPTH OF ANY FEET YOU ARE PUTTING ON. Don't for get this part! Either take note of this measurement on you routers depth guage, or set it on you routers depth stop if its a plunge router.
Now, back the bit off so it's only cutting about 1/8". Push the router through any part of your sacrificial piece and begin to remove material from the cut out.
Continue to do this 1/8" at a time.
Once you reach the final depth which you noted earlier, you are done!
Pop that sucker out of the clamps and finish your board as you usually do.
A word of advice on this. Make sure your cut out isn't so deep that your remaining material is super weak. My boards are 2" thick and I use 7/16" feet so I've got over 1 1/4" of board left which is plenty.

Anyways, that is all I have. If you have any questions, drop me a comment and I'll try to get back to you promptly. If you're actively in the shop doing this and have a question you need answered promptly, I'm much more like to respond quick on instagram.

Hope this helps,

2022.01.20 01:09 rismaa96 Should I be looking elsewhere?

So I’ve recently started a new position at a well-known ad agency in my area working on a very large client. When I landed this job, I was absolutely overjoyed and happy to just get my foot in the door.
Here’s the thing…
I think I was so excited to get my foot in the door that I may have stepped into the wrong agency.
I’ve been here less than 6 months and I’m already seeing red flags. Talented employees leaving one after another, not so talented employees being promoted, a noteworthy amount of ego from my direct manager and overall just a disorganized sort of way of going about things.
And the icing on the cake is that I am starting to suspect that I might be getting underpaid.
Mind you, this is my first time working at an agency… so this could very well be “normal”, and having this agency on your resume is pretty much a stamp of approval to go anywhere else.
But I’m finding myself “casually” browsing open positions on LinkedIn…regularly.
So I guess my question would be, am I looking too deeply into things or are these legitimate red flags? And if they are red flags, worthy of considering a pivot … What does that look like when applying elsewhere with less than 6 months of experience and “already looking to leave”.
I haven’t made any decisions yet, but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been in the industry for awhile, worked at an agency or has found themselves in a similar position, feeling the same way.
Thank you in advance for any insight or advice you’re willing to offer :)

2022.01.20 01:09 AnyLiterature1250 Anybody else see “aspiring milf” in bios?

Jesus I can’t comprehend how cringe this is. I’m doing my daily swiping and nothing is more obnoxious then seeing women portray themselves as a “future milf”. With their asses all out and their only demographic is horny desperate men. I never understood why you’d want to present yourself in that way other than for attention. Maybe its because I live in a college town where the only women around are girls in sororities. But seeing those types of bios immediately make me swipe right so fast. Never saw the appeal of being with someone who paints themselves that way.
